The following is a list of the forthcoming posts, noting I would be pleased to take requests if there is someone with an important issue that you would like addressed.
- January 2019 – Perverse Incentives – a critical element of a highly successful Performance Based Contract (PBC) is a Performance Management Framework (PMF) that drives the right performance and behaviours. Unfortunately, there are numerous examples where a PMF included incentives resulting in unintended and undesirable results, contrary to the interests of the incentive makers. These articles will discuss what Perverse Incentives are, how to recognise them, and more importantly, how to avoid them.
- February 2019 – Award Term – Award Term, or giving (awarding) additional contract term for good performance, is one of the most used PBC incentives. These articles will give detailed information on the set-up and consideration for their use.
- March 2019 – Managing a PBC – while most of this blog is about developing or responding to a PBC, this article looks at operating a PBC; what needs to be done, when and by who.
Additionally, during 2019 I also be releasing a number of PBC Case Studies that highlight certain aspects of setting up, starting and running a PBC regardless of whether you are a buyer or seller.
I hope you enjoy it the posts and find them useful and again if there are any important issues that you’d like me to discuss please don’t hesitate to leave me a message.
