About

About this Blog

My aim for this blog is to provide both people new to the field of Performance Based Contracting (PBC) and experienced practitioners a variety of useful information and a forum to openly discuss this fascinating topic. Essentially I am trying to create a not-for-profit PBC Community of Practice (PBC CoP) to help advance this field. Importantly, this blog is not about marketing you a paid service, getting a high page ranking or collecting email addresses for on-selling, and this includes comments (see the comments section below for rules on comments). My intention is to provide fortnightly posts (that’s once every 2 weeks!) noting I will try to check on any comments between this. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful.

About the Author – Dr Andrew “Jacko” Jacopino

According to most I am (sadly) fascinated in the field of PBC having fallen into it in early 2004. Since then, I have been very lucky to be continuously employed in this field for both buyers and sellers, and either as part of the organisation, engaged as a consultant or as a trainer. This means that I have seen and experienced a range of things that I wish to share, and indeed hear from others, given my passion for the subject.

I regularly present at various domestic and international commercial and PBC conferences and has delivered many PBC workshops and seminars.  I am also an Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Advisory Board member for the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM).

Currently, I am a Senior Advisor in Ngamuru Advisory, a firm established to provide strategic and commercial advice to Australian Commonwealth and State/Territory governments and their industry counterparts.  Prior to this position I was the Assistant Secretary Supplier Analysis and Engagement (SA&E) branch (Oct 2015 – Apr 2018) and the Executive Director Contracting – Performance Based Contracting (May 2013 – Oct 2015) both within the Australian Department of Defence.

Hi Andrew – So this is where you have landed. I too have retired, with my little boutique company Xi Complexity Consulting, to keep me from going bonkers after 48 years in the Navy and Public Service. I also am an Executive Associate with the Canadian company Strategic Relationships Solutions – regrettably, a company that Tim Cummins seems to have fallen out of collaboration with (and thus, seemingly ending my relationship with him too) – SRS, with over 20 years experience in the end-to-end collaborative procurement business. And finally, I enjoyed your latest Deck at the IACCM Conference of the Americas, thanks! Yours aye, Ian
